GBPNIHE has organized a five-day National Training Programme on “Climate Resilient Agriculture for Management of Dryland Ecosystems of the Himalayas” w.e.f. January 12 – 16, 2026 at GBPNIHE - Himachal Pradesh Regional Centre, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. This training programme is organized in collaboration with Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Land Management (CoE-SLM), Indian Council for Forestry Research & Education (ICFRE) – MoEFCC, Govt. of India, Dehradun.
This training programme is especially designed to build the capacity of Group-A officers and field practitioners across key Ministries, Departments and Organizations in the principles and frameworks of Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA), to disseminate region-specific, state-of-the-art knowledge and technical skills in water conservation, climate-smart crop planning, integrated farming systems, and to promote the use of technological innovations, digital tools and community-based participatory approaches to ensure the sustainability and scale-up of interventions. The officers who are engage in programmes/schemes related to land resources, SLM (Sustainable Land Management), LDN (Land Degradation Neutrality) and UNCCD (United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification) have actively participated in this training programme. The training programme was represented by 25 participants from Six States and two Union Territories of the country. 17 thematic lectures/talks have been delivered by the eminent Resource Persons across the country. The visits to various demonstration sites and exposure visits to various research Institutions have been organized for the participants during the training programme for actual field based learning and skill development.
