इंस्टीट्यूट फॉर साइंटिफिक रिसर्च को सभी दान धारा 35 के तहत कर योग्य आय से 175% कटौती के लिए छूट दी गई है (उप-धारा 1, आयकर अधिनियम, 1961 खंड ii)।      संस्थान को सभी दान आयकर अधिनियम, 1961 की धारा 80-जी (5 (vi)) के तहत कर योग्य आय से 50% कटौती के लिए छूट दी गई है।      प्रधान मंत्री राष्ट्रीय राहत कोष (पीएमएनआरएफ) के लिए सभी दान आयकर अधिनियम, 1961 की धारा 80 जी के तहत कर योग्य आय से 100% कटौती के लिए अधिसूचित हैं।

Programme under the NABARD funded project titled ‘Conservation and Management of Traditional Beekeeping (Apis cerana) Practices Through Development of Honeybee Based Sustainable Livelihood Chain in Kullu Valley, HP State’ was organized’. 30 potential beekeepers from Tung Panchayat of Tirthan Valley were selected for the training on beekeeping which includes basics of beekeeping, do’s and don’ts, swarming, livelihood aspects, pollination etc. On concluding the training, one beebox with bee colony and other miner bee hive equipment’s such as bee veils, gloves, brush, etc has been distributed among the beekeepers for further development and multiplication of the colony for their livelihood.

Main discussion points of the webinar: Impact of Climate Change on the Cryosphere in Himachal Himalaya; Wetland Degradation: Its Driving Forces and Environmental Impacts in The Indo-Burma Hotspot; Forest for Climate Change Mitigation: Global Commitments and National Initiatives; Atmospheric Emissions, Climate Change and Adaptation Practices; Energy Farming: A Future of Secure Himalayas; Water Use and Utilization in Leh Town from an Agricultural Society to a Tourism Based Society; Way Forward for Constitution of Youth Forum in HP State.

One Day National Seminar/Webinar was organized on “Creation of Seabuckthorn Value Chain in Trans Himalaya” by GBP ‘NIHE’, HRC, Mohal, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. The Seminar was sponsored by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Shimla and National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India. A total of 57 stakeholders (mainly farmers) participated from the Leh, Lahaul and Spiti Valley of Ladakh UT and Himachal Pradesh. Speakers were of diverse background who were directly or indirectly involved in the Seabcukthorn value chain or can contribute towards the value chain creation.

A total 15 progressive farmers/medicinal plants cultivators participated in the training program. Scientists of institute, medicinal plants boards, experts of Dabur India Pvt. Ltd. and Krishi Vigayn Kendra Scientists delivered the lectures and trained the participants during the training program. Exposure visits of participants were also organized at herbal nurseries, medicinal plants farmers and herbal company of the Kullu & Manali areas.

State Level Workshop on “Network Development & Synergy Building for Establishment of Himalayan Knowledge Network (HKN) in the Himachal Pradesh State” through virtual mode was organised under the project “Himalayan Calling: Bridging Science, Policy and Practices to Foster Sustainable Development in the Indian Himalayan Region”. The Scientists from the different Scientific Institutes and Professors from different universities of the Himachal Pradesh participated in this workshop. The man objective of the workshop was the Identification and Prioritization of two thematic areas of the Himachal Pradesh state and role of departments/Institutions for preparation of thematic reports” by Representatives of each Department/Institution.

A Major Livelihood Option under Gender budgeting was organized for the women from Kullu district under gender budgeting programme. The participants of the programme were women from various panchayats and Mahila Mandals of Kullu valley. Demonstration and experimental training for the participants were given at Brbee Products in Bandrol and Deendayal Bee Farm, Kullu.

All the women participants of the training programme were familiarized about the objectives and outputs/outcomes of this programme. During the four days programme, 12 lectures were delivered by the subject experts like Mr Ankit Sood, Ecotourism Planner of HP, Shri Gyan Chand Chambyal, Cultural expert, HP and Mr Adita, Sunshine Adventures, etc. on different aspects of community-based ecotourism including field visits to witness some of the successful ecotourism model in the region.
