As part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada 2026 (01–15 June 2026), the G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (GBPNIHE), Kosi-Katarmal, Almora organized a series of cleanliness and awareness activities on 03 June 2026. A cleanliness campaign was conducted across the Institute campus, during which staff members actively participated in cleaning and waste collection activities. Simultaneously, the EIACP Centre on Himalayan Environment organized a Mission LiFE and Swachhta Pledge Programme for students of Army Public School, Almora during their exposure visit to the Institute. The students were sensitized to environmental conservation, sustainable lifestyles, waste management, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings. They also visited the Institute’s ex situ conservation site, Sury Kunj, and participated in awareness and plantation activities. The programmes highlighted the collective responsibility of citizens towards environmental protection and the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission and Mission LiFE.
